Fantastic evening at our first Friday Night at the Factory event of the year at GBS.....

On Friday 10th May we all started of the weekend with our first GBS Friday Night at the Factory event of the year, it was a fantastic evening and great to have a carpark full of Zeros, other sports cars and bikes. The gates opened at 5pm and the car park soon filled up, and everyone enjoyed the the lovely freshly baked pizza and drinks that we served throughout the evening. We would like to thank you all for joining us and are now looking forward to the next Friday Night at the Factory that will be happening in June and we will be announcing soon.

Friday Night at the Factory was a new event that we created last year that will be happening on the once a month from May to August. Its a similar style to our GBS Cars & Coffee events with the opportunity for you all to have a summer evening ride out in your sports cars / bikes and a meeting point to enjoy an evening of cars, bikes, car chat, music, food and drinks with the GBS Team.

Next Event Date: TBC but will be in June 2024.

Times: 5pm till late
Location: Great British Sports Cars - NG22 9ZD.
All cars are welcome and everyone is welcome to join us for a great evening. Food and drinks will be available on the night. Please drive responsibly in the local area.

Great turn out for our first Zero Drive Out of the year…......

Last Saturday (27th April) we enjoyed a drive out in the Zero’s that we organised, where we all met at GBS in the car park where all 13 Zeros enjoyed a drive out together. The route that we planned was similar to to previous drive outs covering around 50/60 miles, which was through some lovely villages and country roads finishing in a nice idyllic location in the countryside where we took the opportunity to enjoy some food and drinks. The weather was perfect for us and the rain held off, we would like to thank you all for joining us and making it such an enjoyable day. Friday Night At The Factory is back for 2024..... Join us Friday 10th May at GBS.

Friday Night at the Factory is back and happening in May / June / July / August at Great British Sports Cars.
Happening again this year is our Friday Night at the Factory event -This event we are planning to happen one Friday a month from May to August. Similar style to our GBS Cars & Coffee events this is a great opportunity for you all to have a summer evening ride out in your sports cars / bikes and a meeting point to enjoy an evening of cars, bikes, car chat, music, food and drinks with the GBS Team. The GBS Car Park will be open from 5pm till late.  

Hot Food (Pizza) and Drinks will be available for you all to enjoy on the night. The first date for the GBS Friday Night at the Factory is happening on Friday 10th May and then we plan them to take place in June, July and August. The other dates will be confirmed and announced very soon.

All cars and bikes are welcome and everyone is welcome to join us for a great evening. Please drive responsibly in the local area.

We are pleased to have recently booked our stands at this years Kit Car Shows...... Which are taking place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.

Then later in the year than normal we will also be at the Newark Kit Car Show that is very close to the GBS Factory at Newark Showground in Newark on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September.

We have not yet confirmed which Zeros will be on display but follow us on our social media channels to see more details nearer the time. A sample range of parts from Kit Spares will also be on display - With the option to pre order your parts and collect at the show.

We are excited to share with you all that we have now confirmed the date for the next GBS Cars & Coffee event of 2024, which is proudly sponsored by Yokohama Tyres and will be taking place on Saturday 15th June at GBS from 10am-2pm.

 

As many of you know everyone at GBS has a strong passion for cars and anything to do with motorsport and we love our Cars & Coffee events and Track Days etc and we all love to host our Cars & Coffee days which are getting busier and attracting a variety of sports cars each time we host one.

After working with and stocking Yokohama Tyres for several years now and supplying them on our parts website and shop Kit Spares we are delighted that they are joining us again this year at our next GBS Cars & Coffee event.

The GBS Cars & Coffee event at GBS was created in 2016 and has since been a massive success & we have continued to hold the event again for several years. Its an event that we have created that gives the chance for you all to have a ride out in your sports cars / meeting point and enjoy a coffee (plus biscuits/ cake of course) and chat about your cars, all are welcome to join us in any car (modern or classic including bikes). Everyone is welcome to join us in any car!
Another great thing about our GBS Cars & Coffee events are that we raise more money for two great charities…. We collect for the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance & Cancer Research, and will be collecting on the day. Refreshments are free and all we ask for is a donation to our chosen charities.

Fantastic first GBS Track Day of the year at Blyton Park....

Fantastic day at our first GBS Track Day of the year….. Last Saturday (23rd March) was our first GBS Track Day of the year at Blyton Park, where we were joined with 10 other Zero owners some of which was their first time out on the Track in their Zeros.

Out on track was our two Zero demonstrators - Our Zero Mazda demonstrator & New Ford Zero Race car, which were doing not stop laps. Our new Zero Race Car performed exceptionally well and had ques with people wanting passenger laps. Lauren our apprentice who only recently passed her driving test was out on track in our Mazda demonstrator having fun most of day. We would like to thank everyone who joined us and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, even although it was so cold!

Students Zero Race Self Build Kit is progressing well....

Just before we broke up for the Christmas holidays we welcomed a group of year 2 motorsport students from Stafford & Newcastle College (NSCG College) to GBS for a full factory tour. The College now have their Ultimate Zero (Race Chassis) self build kit and the students are now well underway with their build and we have already received a lot of photos from them. The new Zero build guide that we have has been a great help to them and we look forward to following their build, and them joining us at our future events with their very own Zero. We also look forward to welcoming them back to GBS again later this year for another student factory tour.

The Zero build is an ideal education tool in engineering and technical programs. Students gain practical experience developing their knowledge and understanding of engineering in a practical application. As well as being an exciting and captivating project for students a GBS Zero build maintains interest and enthusiasm with a real sense of achievement as each stage is completed. Another Zero on the road and registered in the USA.....

Another Zero on the road and registered in the USA..... Its great to see that recently another Zero is now fully registered and being enjoyed on the road in the USA. This customer has now completed his Duratec powered Zero build and already covered several hundred miles and been to a car show where it attracted a lot of attention. Another Zero is currently at paint that will be back with us next month and then on the way to its new owner in the USA very soon.

We look forward to receiving more photographs from our customers in the USA out and about enjoying their Zeros and sharing more photos with you. The Zero range is available in LHD and exported worldwide, please get in touch with us and we can put you in touch with our USA Representative.

At the weekend we hosted our first Cars & Coffee event of the year here at GBS and it was great to see a few new Zero owners join us for the very first time in their newly registered Zeros and also great to hear that they have booked on to join us on our Track Day later this month. Big thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday (9th March) at GBS for our first Cars and Coffee event of the year…….The weather was perfect and the rain held off for the day. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to you all for joining us and helping us make it such a great event and enjoyable day, its always nice to see the Zero’s together in the car park along with a wide variety of other cars.

The GBS and Kit Spares show room was very busy with people and the Kit Spares   was also very busy with sales and enquires. As usual the cakes attracted a lot of attention and certainly went down well with not many left along with the unlimited supply of tea and coffee. We would also like to thank Howden Specialist Vehicle Insurance for sponsoring and supporting our event, you can see more about their insurance they offer on our Insurance page.

Another great thing about our GBS Cars & Coffee events that we love, is that we are able to raise money for our 2 chosen charities which are the Cancer Research UK and The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, we all feel and hope you agree that The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is a fantastic service and has helped & will continue to help many people, as well as the Cancer Research UK that is again a fantastic charity that makes a big difference to so many people and their families.

First shake down of our NEW Zero Race demonstrator at Blyton Park....

Yesterday we took our new Zero Race car on the track for the very first time, some of the GBS Team headed to Blyton Park for the afternoon where we did a shake down with the race car getting it prepared for its first track day event that is happening later this month at Blyton Park.

At our next Cars & Coffee event we are supporting the Local Easter Egg Run....

Its not long now till our first Cars & Coffee event of the year which is happening on Saturday 9th March at GBS with Howden Insurance.

We are also pleased to be supporting the local Easter Egg Run that is happening on Sunday 17th March. Lauren our Fabrication apprentice has supported this event for several years now with her dad on their motor bikes and will be taking our donated Easter Eggs. At our Christmas Cars & Coffee event we supported the Me&Dee Hospital Run and collected Christmas gifts for the children, where we were delighted to have received so many gifts. On the day (9th March) we will collecting Easter Eggs for the charity Egg Run, these can be left with the team at the refreshment area.

We are pleased to be supporting this fantastic charity and collecting Easter eggs to donate to the Children. Lauren will be here on the day collecting the Easter Egg donations and will be able to answer any questions about the charity. We look forward to seeing you all, there will be plenty of cakes to enjoy!

Race Retro Plan B – Open House at GBS this Saturday 24th February 10am – 4pm.

We were saddened to hear that this years Race Retro Show has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. We understand their decision and that the safety and well-being of attendees, participants, staff and local residents remain their top priority.

Due to cancellation of the Race Retro Show we have decided to have an open house at GBS this Saturday (24th February) from 10am to 4pm. We are delighted that we will also be supported by a few other exhibitors and clubs that were going to be at the show that we will share more about later in the week on our social media channels.
If you were planning on visiting our stand at the Race Retro this weekend we hope you will come and join us on Saturday at GBS instead, below are some more details about what we are planning -

First GBS Track Day of 2024 date is announced....

The first GBS Track Day of 2024 is happening on Saturday 23rd March 2024 at Blyton Park and the GBS team would like to invite you all to join in your Zero’s.

Its on the outer circuit of Blyton Park which is 1.5 miles and an open pit lane, starting at 9am and finishing at 5pm you will be guaranteed to get lots of laps in. We can’t wait and hope you can all join us and enjoy the day with us. We will be there with the Zero’s which we will be offering passenger rides with one of the GBS team. Passenger passes can all be purchased on the day with Javelin Track Days along with Helmet hire too.

More details about this GBS Track Day can be found on our event page with a link of where to book your place. We recommend that you book soon to avoid disappointment as this is likely to get booked up quite quickly. We will also be doing other track days later in the year so there will more opportunities to join us!

First Factory Tour of 2024.... Book on the next one

Our First Factory Tour event was hosted at the weekend and was massive success. We are pleased to offer this new opportunity for a privileged insight into everything that goes into creating the GBS Zero and associated products that we manufacture.
If you are thinking of buying a GBS Zero, have one already or if you are into your motorsport and engineering and would love to see what we do then this is the event for you.
The tour will be led by Richard the Director of Great British Sports Cars and the team, which will include a Tour of the GBS Workshop, Parts Department, Engineering and Assembly Area, Fabrication, Composites and more. The numbers per tour are limited to give a more personal experience. The next Factory tour dates will be later in the year and announced very soon so keep checking our event page for updates and head to our GBS YouTube Channel where you will see a short video of our factory tour experience.

More Zero Race Cars soon to be on the track.....

Every Zero that you see is different and bespoke to the individual customer, this Zero Race chassis the customer wanted painted blue, we can’t wait to see it finished and out on the track later this year.
The Zero is available as both a self-build and factory built option and also a Race chassis option is available which you can see here. We have recently had a lot of Zero Race Chassis in production that we look forward to following the builds off.

For maximum safety and rigidity our Race chassis comes with a fully welded integrated Roll Cage that is MSUK compliant or to full FIA Compliant spec. The custom Zero Race allows you to tailor the Zero to the engine and running gear configuration of your choice to suit the race series you are competing in, weather that is an already compatible engine or a completely custom engine installation.

First event of 2024 for the GBS Team was a great success….

It’s been a busy start to the year at GBS as we were straight into preparing for the first event on the GBS Calendar which was the Autosports International Show at the NEC in Birmingham. The event started on Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th January, it was nice to see and catch up with so many customers and suppliers over the 4 days as well as meet many new customers that we look forward to welcoming to the GBS Factory over the next few months and new suppliers that we also look forward to working with.

We were based in Hall 3, where we had two very nice spec Zero’s on display, including our new high spec Zero Race Car which will be making its first appearance out on the track later this year along with our Zero demonstrator. Both Zero’s attracted a lot of attention and we were also delighted to have Tri-Tech 3D join us on our stand, who had one of the latest UltiMaker 3D printers on display. This printer is an affordable starting point for anyone looking to get into 3D printing, the UltiMaker S7 is built for a wide variety of applications (including End use parts, Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures) many of which are ideal for the Automotive industry.

Tri Tech will be with us on our stand at the Autosport Show......

We are very much looking forward to being at this year’s Autosport’s Show happening next week. With our ongoing partnership we are delighted that Tri-Tech 3D will be joining us on our stand again this year.
On display, along with the Zeros including our new Zero Race car that is now ready for the track will be one of the latest UltiMaker 3D printers. An affordable starting point for anyone looking to get into 3D printing, the UltiMaker S7 is built for a wide variety of applications (including End use parts, Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures) many of which are ideal for the Automotive industry.
Not only will you will be able to see this 3D Printer on our stand, there will also be a selection of 3D printed models from market leaders Stratasys. Boasting five different 3D print technologies and an even wider gamut of materials, we have sample parts from previous use case projects that are sure to make you stop and look, and some that can be seen on our Zero Race Car.
