CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR APPRENTICE & ITS COMPETITION TIME AGAIN…

Congratulations to our apprentice Thomas Slaney who has passed his BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering where last week his certificates arrived, which are now waiting to be framed and put up on the wall in the GBS engineering department where Thomas is based working on our CNC machinery alongside our machinists and designer. Thomas has been with us since 2016 and since then has been doing really well and we are all very proud of him and is a very valued member of our team. Thomas has now started the next level which is an HNC in engineering at Rotherham College where he attends for 1 day a week which started in September.

We are pleased to have with us Dominic Wills who has been with us since August on his placement year from Aston University where he is studying Mechanical Engineering. We will share more in the next few weeks about what Dominic has been busy working on with the GBS Team in the design development department. We have lots more exciting plans for Dominic during his year with us at GBS. You may have seen Dominic at our Silverstone Track Day a few weeks ago as he was their with his father and cousin in their Zero that Dominic and his Father built several years ago. You can now see all the photos from our Silverstone Track Day on our GBS Facebook page.

Also Anthony who works in our design department did very well recently at a Time Attack event at Rockingham which he competed in his own car. Anthony entered the vitational class along with around 28 others which meant he didn’t have to run the control tyres of the championship.  Anthony did very well in his Honda Integra DC2 with a home built 1.8L turbo engine where he came fastest in his class. The class Anthony was in was not really part of the official Time Attack lap times, it was fun anyway and he enjoyed it. A lot of you may have already met Anthony at GBS and at our events, he was also the main driver of our Zero Race at our recent track day at Silverstone, where you can now see a video on our GBS YouTube channel of Anthony doing a few laps of the Silverstone British Grand Prix Circuit in the Zero Race demonstrator.

As you know all the GBS team have a really strong passion for all types of motorsport and we are very lucky to have a great team who all have the same passion and enjoyment for motorsport.
